Welcome back to Dark Reads. I was lucky enough to receive an ARC for made a monster. Wow, what a debut. Firmly placing itself up there in the Splatterpunk Genre. Let’s talk about it.
About The Book

Adrian and Kendra are a match made in Hell.
Adrian’s dark past left him with a twisted imagination that takes him deep into the forest where he does unspeakable things.
Kendra is new to town. She has a dark secret of her own and an unhealthy obsession with a boy she hasn’t even met yet.
Until Adrian met Kendra, he had his deviant urges under control. When she comes to him for help, his capacity for violence goes beyond anything either of them could have imagined.
Dark Reads Review
Sometimes two people come together and magical things happen, other times it results in a match made in Hell.
In this diabolical little tale we follow two main characters Adrian and Kendra. Both have grown up in Very different but Very abusive homes and has left both irreparably damaged as a result.
When Kendra moves to the same city and highschool they instantly form a bond
they both learn how sick and twisted the other is and this and their sexual deviencies only solidify their relationship and revenge is on the cards.
This book was savage. It was depraved, insanely gory and totally taboo.
It is undeniably full throttle splatterpunk, I read a lot in this genre and I felt uncomfortable reading certain scenes in this story its wild!
I love a revenge story and really enjoy the revenge being served, but this made me feel conflicted. I absolutely felt awful about what Adrian and Kendra went through, but as the title Suggest, they are both so monstrous their revenge put them on a level with the perpetrators. Instead of the revenge feeling sweet, read it looking through my fingers. Genious!
The storyline was great and the Character development was well executed, I really liked that we got sections of the Story from various Characters points of view.
I firmly believe that going forward when Someone Says ‘Splatter-punk, People are going books
to think of Made a Monster by Rob Nelson!
I’m not sure I’m ok, but I loved this, are You ok Rob?!
This released earlier this month so you can get stuck in Straight away.
I’d recommend you check your triggers for this one…
