Book Review – Seven Rabbits by Timothy King

Welcome back to Dark Reads, Today I have a review of Seven Rabbits by Timothy King.

I’m going to start right off the bat by saying that this is easily a ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ read. Seven Rabbits is Timothy‘s debut novel, yet it reads like it’s been written by a seasoned author who has been publishing tiles for years and years. I will without a doubt be picking up anything written by this author in future.

This book is a revenge slasher story in which we follow a group of high school jocks, we all know the type, overprivileged, egocentric with parents in high places and as a result no consequence for their outrageous behaviour.

The book starts out with the group of boys getting ready for their tradition, a weekend of drinking and bad behaviour in an isolated cabin in the woods before they head off to college.

They discover very quickly their crimes against the girls in their classes have not gone unnoticed, and they are about to pay the ultimate price.

This book is brilliantly written, the characters all have individual and well thought out personalities. The brutality, violence and gore is relentless, and described in perfect detail. Definitely not for the fainthearted.

The story is told in chapters of present time and flashbacks to the things that happened for these boys to have ended up in the situation they are.

I really liked the way that even though these characters were vile, I found myself feeling terrified for them. Then was instantly reminded in the next chapter of what they had done and why I didn’t feel bad for them.

Seven Rabbits really does read like watching a movie and I would 100% love to see this adapted as a movie. It would be Wild!

if you haven’t had chance to pick this one up yet, I would highly recommend you do so. It really is something!
